Evacuated Hot Water Tubes

I understand that evacuated hot water solar tubes are “more” efficient than other flat panel systems. They seem fragile and vulnerable to breakage and are they really worth the extra cost?

Planning on putting a solar panel on the roof of our boat house to charge batteries for an electric engine. It is a 24 volt system. Are 4 six volts batteries better than 2 twelve volt batteries?

If I wanted to boost the 24 volt reserve could I use double the batteries?

If a solar panel is rated at 190W, what does that mean? I have a product bulletin that rates a panel @ 190W with an efficiency of 12.7%. Can this panel produce 190W and what is the time span used to produce this wattage. 190W an hour, or month, or year?

I understand average sunlight hours etc., but coming up with reliable numbers based on wattage is escaping me.

Can you tie a new solar hotwater system into your existing water system? Can I use my existing hot water tank as the storage for the solar hot water I create?
